‘Trelawny’s 20,000’ - Comments

Posted on Aug 01, 2009 under Stadium for Cornwall |

The call for a ‘Trelawny’s 20,000’ asking for petition friends to ask 10 of their friends to sign the petition, has resulted in 256 signatures over 48 hours. This from a base of 2214.

Hopefully, momentum will build as more people are asked to sign.

Some interesting comments were posted on the petition form, some of which can be seen here:

2347 - Professor Kenneth MacKinnon, Dingwall, Ross-shire
‘A valuable asset for Cornwall’s socio-economic infrastructure - enabling the Duchy to attract UK and International events and their economic benefits. A considerable plus for health, wellbeing and morale.’

2391 - Mrs Christine Boon
‘I have been asked to sign this by a good friend who now lives with his Cornish wife and family down in Cornwall, as someone who moved to Cornwall to please his Cornish born wife, he can understand how much you need this facility for the children of Cornwall, his new family included’!

2385 - Mrs Carole Hoskin, Bodmin, Cornwall
‘We always have to travel so far to see bands, football matches and other sporting events that if we had a stadium in Cornwall it would benefit us all’.

2380 - Mrs Carol James, St Columb, Cornwall
‘I really hope that everyone signs so that the powers that be have to listen and do something’!

2402 - Lt Col Patrick Wellington MBE, ST AUSTELL, Cornwall
‘Build it and they will come’!

However, the comment below is the one that will decide the petition’s success or failure -
2384 - Mr Walter Smale, St Columb, Cornwall
‘I wish you best of luck and will make all I know sign’!

Well said Walter, we hope everyone does the same!

So from S4C - Well done to those who have asked friends to sign the petition so far, also to those who have  put messages and links to this site on their Facebook/Twitter forums.

Proper job!
