Cornwall Council – Councillors Support the Stadium!
Posted on Jul 29, 2009 under Stadium for Cornwall |While Cornwall Council hasn’t openly declared their support for a Stadium for Cornwall as yet, then clearly there is support among our Council Councillors.
Support for the Stadium for Cornwall is growing as Mr Tony Martin Conservative, has declared his support and wants to get a sports stadium for Cornwall to encourage talented youngsters.
Edwina Hannaford, Liberal Democrat said, ‘In Looe and South East Cornwall we have a thriving football and rugby set up in particular from under 8’s upwards. Dedicated families support these young people in a pastime that builds self- esteem, confidence and is healthy. A Cornish stadium and centre of excellence would be a focus for sporting activity in Cornwall’.
Also,Tamsin Williams, another Liberal Democrat stated ‘Considering our sporting tradition it is only fitting we have a stadium of our very own. I support this campaign whole heartedly!’
So evidently, the Council Councillors are certainly getting behind the Stadium for Cornwall including Charlotte MacKenzie, who is backing the Stadium for Cornwall campaign as the Labour Parliamentary Candidate for Truro and Falmouth.
Councillor Jeremy Rowe, St Issey, Lib/Dem has also signed the petition at 2671.
