A Message from the S4C Campaign Group
Posted on Jul 25, 2009 under Stadium for Cornwall |The Group would like to thank all signatories on the petition for their support so far. You have all made a statement to our Council saying we require a modern, multi-functional Stadium for Cornwall.
Also, a recent ‘mass emailing’ of petition email addresses gained well over 300 signatures and we are well on the way (along with the written signatures) to reaching our first target of 5,000 - not bad after only four months!
However, this is an ongoing petition and a figure of 15,000 – 20,000 would go some way towards convincing our Council that there is enough SUPPORT throughout the Duchy in making the building of the stadium a viable proposition.
This is achievable. If all of us who signed the petition ask at least ten friends to do the same - we would make a total of over 20,000!
It is therefore vital that we must:
A) Ask ALL family, friends and workmates to sign the petition.
B) Email all the contacts in our address book.
C) Put a link to the S4C website on all our emails and social networking groups/forums. Twitter/Face book etc:
Again, thank you to everyone for your continuing support – together we can make the Stadium for Cornwall a reality!
Look out for the ’Stadium for Cornwall’ petition advert and letters in this week’s CORNISHMAN & WEST BRITON
A comment worthy of note from Mr James Alexander, Newquay, Cornwall. - No 2131
‘I am at Truro College studying sport. Please give some serious consideration to this petition. We deserve as good as the rest of the country, yet we have to travel 100’s of miles to stadium out of County to progress in our sports’. 23/07/2009
‘We have to travel 100’s of miles to a stadium out the County to progress in our sports’. Evidence and a sad reflection of how the authorities of the past have done very little towards our sporting facilities for the future. James will be surely be one of many who have to travel outside of the Duchy to progress in their sports.
